I have been reluctant to take full body pictures lately because I feel like I'm not where I want to be physically and athletically. Blame it on the fit girls that I follow on Instagram.  Believe it or not, I actually wouldn't mind gaining some muscle weight.  No, I am not trying to look manly or like She-ra, but I seriously feel like muscle makes a woman look curvy (especially, in their lower body).  I like my upper body BUT my main goal is to grow a nice toned arse (Phaedra would call it a "donkey booty")  and a chiseled tummy...summer is just around the freaking corner.

I know that this is a little late but this video makes me laugh every time that I watch it.
I woke up to this video in an email on Christmas morning and I've been cracking up ever since.
CJ always dances for me in real life but his dance moves are a little stiff and out dated (sorry babe).  This video is funny because it actually looks like he can dance, hehe.
I WOULD love to learn this dance in real life though!

What I'm Reading......

"don't be afraid of silly ideas"..........I'm reading this new book called It's Not How Good You Are, It's How Good You Want To Be by Paul Arden.  It's about how to succeed in the world.  In 2013, I want to strive to be the best that I can be.  I have a ton of creative ideas but I always talk myself out of making them happen.  Sometimes, I am my own worst enemy.  This year, I'm going to give my silly ideas a try.

The Nutcracker

On Friday a sweet friend of mine invited CJ and I to watch the North Carolina Dance Theatre perform The Nutcracker.  We had a wonderful time.  The dancers were incredible and the props were dazzling. 


 
 
The Charlotte Symphony also performed live, which  totally tickled my inner band geeks pickle. 
 
All of the little girls were dressed up in the prettiest little dresses.  During intermission the lobby was filled with  girls twirling and leaping.  It was super cute. 
Okay, I attempted a couple leaps and twirls myself once I got home (imagine that).  I'm sure that I looked like a fool but I had to give it a try.  I've always admired ballerina's but I was told that I didn't have the feet for it. 
 
 

 
Overall, I had a blast and I can't wait to do it again next year!

Ugly Christmas Sweater Party

One of my favorite couple's in the whole wide world hosted a Christmas party at
their beautiful home this past Saturday.The theme of course was the infamous "Ugly Christmas" sweater party. 
The drinks flowed and the music thumped ALL night.  The girls had a dance off inside while the guys chilled outside near the fire.  
Periodically, the guys would walk in to grab a drink and glare at us like we were crazy, but we didn't care one bit.

My knees hurt the next morning from 'dropping it like it was hot' too many times (seriously).  I was really sad when it was time to leave the party BUT I am looking forward to
seeing everyone again.

Today's Workout:
 
15 min warm-up: Treadmill. 9.5 incline, 3.5 speed without holding on to the handles
 
 
Legs: Hack Squat 3 sets, 12reps
Static Lung 4 sets, 15 reps
Hamstring Curls (machine) 3sets, 15 reps
Leg Extensions: 3sets, 12 reps
 
Biceps: Dumbbell Curls 3 sets, 10 reps
Closed Gripped Barbell Curls 3 sets, 10reps
Hammer curls 3 sets, 10reps
Isolated Bicep Curls 3 sets, 10 reps

I was able to knock out this workout in 1hr and 4 min.  I'm not really sure how
many calories I burned because my heart rate monitor has been acting up.  I need to adjust the settings but I lost the frickin' manual. 
 All I can say is that my heart rate stayed between 100 bpm and 150 bpm.

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

 
 
Finally, it's time to watch the VS Fashion Show!
 
I secretly wish  that I was Brazilian.....It's not fair that Brazilian women are so damn hot.
talk about good genes.
 
Rihanna is smoking hot too.  I can't stop singing "shine bright like a diamond"
 
It's funny because I know that tons of women will decide to hit the gym after watching the VS Fashion Show tonight.   I bet that gyms across the world will be packed with women tomorrow trying to work towards getting a naughty body. 
 
 
 
Personally, I think that these biotches are way too skinny *Hating* BUT I would kill to have
their confidence.  Alessandra Ambrosio  and Heidi Klum are the only VS models that
actually look healthy in my opinion.

Steak and Pork Stir Fry

 
 
Tonight I made a Stir Fry for dinner! 
 
I made the meal healthy, but it turned out to be  super flavorsome even though I
left out a ton of ingredients ( in an attempt to cut down on calories).  Somtimes, I find that some meals don't taste as good when you try to make them healthy BUT this one did not disappoint.
 
I traded in my Extra Virgin Olive Oil for Coconut Oil.  For the most part I
couldn't taste the difference BUT I was told that Spectrum makes
a tasteless Coconut Oil for all of you that hate the taste of coconut.
 

{I purchased ALL of the ingredients at Trader Joe's}

I also use coconut oil once a week for a hot oil treatment for my hair (I have a
separate jar that I use for my hair and body, lol).


Ingredients:
Steak
Pork Tenderloin
Coconut Oil
Frozen Stir Fry Veggies
Island Soyaki
3/4 Yellow Onion Sliced
Crushed Red Pepper
Brown Rice Lo-mein Noodles
2 whole eggs Scrambled
 
The Island Soyaki sauce has about 300mg of Sodium per serving  which
is on the high end, but I drank a lot of water with my meal to balance
everything out.

I cooked enough to take for lunch for a couple of days, but I'm thinking about substituting
quinoa instead of the Lo-mein Noodles.
