Usually, I try to stay away from GNC products because they are so dang expensive BUT a friend at work knows how much I love pumpkin flavored treats and made me try her shake.  I am hooked y'all....this shake doesn't even taste like your typical protein shake.  I AM ADDICTED!

Thanksgiving

 
 
I hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
I spent the day back home with family and friends.
I ate and drank way too much.  I had all intentions of hitting the gym this morning but I was
so full that I couldn't even get out of bed.
I refused to shop on Black Friday because I didn't want to be involved in the non-sense BUT my mom and sister did go to the mall at midnight and found some pretty great deals.
I'm so happy that I no longer work it retail....I heard that the mall was a mad house.
  I am going to shop on Monday
in my pj's  from the luxury of my bed.....Cyber Monday is where it's at.
 
 
Here is the comfy outfit that I wore on Thanksgiving. 
This cake was my contribution to the Thanksgiving feast.  I told everyone that I made it, LOL.

Happy Tuesday!!!  Thanksgiving is around the corner and I cannot wait to eat some yummy food.
My dad is frying a huge turkey (keeping it southern y'all).  We are also having a baked turkey, ham, and grilled chicken. If you haven't had fried turkey you need to give it a try one day.  I don't suggest making it yourself because you could burn down your house.
It's probably not the healthiest thing on earth, but it is so juicy and delicious.  Around this time of year my inner fat girl comes out.  The two weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, all I can think about is food....it's really sad y'all.  Good thing that I have been on track with my workouts this week....I even added 15 minutes of HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) to my workout today. Holler!

so #yesimwearingthis today.  I'm so lucky that  we don't have a dress code at work.  This outfit is super casual but it is so comfortable.  I love stretchy pants... i.e. leggings.   For some reason I always feel like lipstick and hoop earrings will dress up any outfit.

Friendsgiving Dinner

Tonight we went to a Friendsgiving Dinner.  I ate way too much and I'm struggling to write this post because all I want to do is sleep.  The food was absolutely amazing.  Everyone brought a dish and we all pigged out.  Cj and I only knew the hostess so it was great to mingle  and make new friends.

My SLR battery was running low so I had to take the pics with a regular camera, blah blah.


I decided to make my mom's homemade mac & cheese for the dinner.  It's calorie loaded but so freakin' delicious.  I decided that I'm not going to hold back this Thanksgiving.  Life is way to short to pass up all of the yummy food that I'll be surrounded by.  I will just eat in moderation.  I'm going to add an extra 30 minutes of cardio to my daily workouts this week.


I would share my mom's yummy recipe but, I would have to kill you if I told you so I am not going to spill the beans.  My mother is an amazing cook and has been cooking ever since she was a teenager.  I called and asked her how the make mac & cheese today and she has been making it for so long that wasn't able to give me exact measurements..........I was worried that it wouldn't taste the same but it turned out great!

17-year old girl killing a Crossfit workout....

I found this video on YouTube and I had to share it with y'all.  Let's just say that this 17-year old girl is wicked strong. It looks like she is in fantastic shape...I'm jealous!




I've always wanted to try Crossfit but this 'ish seems super hard..... 

I'm sure that I would have a freakin' heart attack if I even attempted this workout....

I'm watching the singer P!NK on VH1's Storytellers.  I have ALWAYS been in love with her style and music.  I like that she has stayed true to who she is and it doesn't seem like she takes shit from anyone.  Oh, and her hubby Carey Hart is adorable.  I'm stoked that she is coming to Charlotte in March!

Tough Love Workouts

 I stopped by the mall today after work looking for a cute dress to wear to a wedding.

Perhaps I wasn't in the mood to shop because I could not find anything worth buying.
It's cold outside and I don't want to wear a sleeveless dress or a dress that is made of
that thin sheer material, ugh annoying. Maybe it's a sign that I need to stop shopping and save
for the holidays. 
 
 I wasn't having much luck shopping so I went to Barnes&Noble instead. 
I found the book pictured above and I haven't been able to put it down all night.  The book pretty much tells you everything you need to know about working out  and clean-eating.
 
 

I'm most excited about learning a few new abdominal AND booty exercises because those
are the two main areas that I want to improve. I figure if I start working on them now
I will be more than ready when spring rolls around.

Do yourself a favor and buy the book, it's only ten bucks...
I promise that you will find it useful!

Jin's Seared Scallops

{fresh spinach, SCALLOPS, grape tomatoes, and mashed cauliflower}
I must say that these babies were so freaking delicious (giving myself a pat on the back).  I was worried about over cooking them
but they turned out just right. I highly suggest using a couple drops of natural honey or
agave nectar to sweeten them up.
 
I always order scallops when I'm out at a restaurant BUT I've never
tried to make them on my own until recently.  If they weren't so dang expensive I would
eat them every night.
 
 
 
 
 
I'm not sure if this is a good deal or not BUT I purchased 13 huge scallops (a pound) from
my local grocer for only $12.98.  The guy working the seafood stand also told me that
the light pink scallops are the females (TMI, I know)
Healthy eating can be really expensive but I'm willing to cut my expenses in
other areas so that I can eat healthy food. 
 
1 Scallop =  Approx. 2.9 grams of Protein
 
 
RECIPE:
1 pound of FRESH scallops
Sweet white wine
1 teaspoon of Trader Joe's Crushed Garlic
1 tablespoon of "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter"
A dash of sea salt and black pepper
Rosemary
a few drops of Agave Nectar
