Race Weekend!!

This Past weekend was absolutely amazing to say the least.  First off, I got to spend the weekend in my favorite city, Charleston, SC.  I missed all of the yummy food, the smell of the ocean, the tall Palmetto trees, and the cool brisk air brushing up against my neck.  I did not want to move away after college but I had to find a "big girl" job.  Well, I guess that I didn't have to leave but I didn't want to explain to my parents that I was going to stay in Charleston and work in food&bev (restaurant industry for y'all who don't get the lingo) after they just spent tons of money sending me away to college.  So, staying was not an option for me at the time.  Now that I've had time to evaluate things, I think that the quality of life is far more important than trying to stick to social norms.  I think that I could have used a break after college before going straight to work.
 I totally forgot to mention why I was in Charleston (sorry).  I went to run the annual Cooper River Bridge Run.  Every year tons of people (40k people this year) gather in "chucktown" to run the race.  For most people like myself the race is a good excuse to party, hangout with old friends, and hang on the beach.  I got to see a couple of my college roommates that still live in Charleston.  Let's just say that I'm jealous that they get to live in such a cool town AND I'm sad that I don't get to see them as much.  I miss my old roommies so much...they are such good people with sweet hearts and I wish that I had more time to catch up with them (Murp).  I'm kicking myself for loosing touch with them over the years but I'm hoping that we can rekindle our friendship and see each other more.
I left the hotel Sunday kicking and screaming like a toddler being pulled away from the monkey bars.
Who knows, maybe I'll move back to Charleston one day but for now I'll just have to visit more often.

{I was just jin this weekend NOT jinfitness.  Let's just say that I drank most of my calories}

Are you still close with your college roommate(s)?

I love running and meeting other runners! And, no, don't keep in contact with college roommates. I kind of left college abruptly. Wish I did though....-Jessica
