Hump Day

Happy Hump Day Dolls! My day went a little something like this.... I woke up to the sound of raindrops, I left 15 minutes early because I was anticipating traffic with the rain and all. I actually ended up being late to work AGAIN because people in my town don't know how to drive in the rain. Something was wrong with the Internet at work today so a simple task took TWICE as long as it normally would to complete. A good friend of mine got fired today, but it was totally their fault......I could go on and on but I'm sure that you guys get the point! I definitely would have preferred a lazy rainy day at home-- hopefully tomorrow will be better.

I DID Workout today (woohoo yea) and left the gym feeling GREAT!

Here is what I ate today:

Breakfast- Banana and Plain Greek Yogurt

Lunch- Asparagus, Garlic Chicken, and Whole Wheat Pasta

Snack- Apple and a Whey Protein Shake

Dinner- Salad w/ Chicken

It's been raining all day and I've been cooped up in the house for majority of the day (I skipped work because I had a dentist appt...ugh) I did manage to drag myself to the gym for 30 minutes on the Eliptical and a killer Shoulder/ Abdominal Workout. Now I'm just lounging on the sofa, drinking a glass of my favorite wine (I deserve the extra calories hehe..not really but anyhoo) AND online shopping for sneakers!

I'm having trouble deciding which shoes I should buy........

Nike LunarGlide+ 2 Women's Running Shoe

Reebok Zig Pulse Women's Running Shoe

Ms. Olympia

The results are in...Sonia Gonzales was crowned the first IFBB Bikini Olympia champion! It looks like tons of Pro Figure girls are making the transition to bikini. She looks amazing. Fit but not too toned. After watching the show I'm seriously considering competing in a Bikini Contest.

Coconut Milk Styling Mousse

I was waiting on a couple prescriptions to get filled yesterday after work at CVS Pharmacy. While I was waiting I decided to take a couple laps around the store. I found this Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Styling Mousse and after one use I am in LOVE. First off this product was on sale for only $4.99 which is a steal. I washed my hair with Trader Joe's shampoo and conditioned with Herbal Essence Hello Hydration. I put in a little Cantu Shea Butter Leave-in Conditioner and a few squirts of the Coconut Milk Styling Mousse. My hair looks super shiny, but does NOT feel greasy at all. Also I have a bunch of bounce and movement. I love this stuff...Thinking about driving back to CVS today to purchase the shampoo and conditioner.

oops forgot to mention that this stuff is Sulfate free and made from ALL organic products.

Yummy Healthy Shrimp

I found this yummy recipe and I can't wait to make it for dinner. This dish only has 303 calories per serving. I truly believe that I was Italian in my past life because I love pasta.

8 ounces whole-wheat fettuccine
1 pound asparagus, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces (about 4 cups)
1/2 cup sliced jarred roasted red peppers
1/4 cup prepared pesto
2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
1 pound raw shrimp, (21-25 per pound), peeled and deveined
1 cup dry white wine
Freshly ground pepper, to taste

Too Many to Choose From

I'm turning in my keys to my quiet little one bedroom apartment and moving to the heart of the city with "he". I'm super excited but also very stressed at the same time because I have to figure out how to fit my whole apartment into his one bedroom/ loft condo. Realistically, I am probably gonna have to rent a storage unit to hold all of my leftover stuff. In the meantime I'm researching and shopping around for some bedroom design ideas. Eventually, I would like to redecorate the whole place but I figured that I would start with the bedroom first.

I love Tiffany Co. so why not paint my room this color? its very inviting and I think that it would look nice with an accent of yellow.

I've never been a fan of purples but I love this color

I'm really feeling this shade of green.

Let me know if you guys have any cool/funky chic ideas!

What's the Point Anyways??

Ladies I'm sure that we all have those days where we don't feel good about ourselves, either our thighs are too big, our stomach isn't flat enough, or we feel like a gigantic balloon on the verge of combustion. Today I went to the gym not feeling confident at all. I did not eat that healthy over the weekend and I was just feeling sluggish and guilty. I would have rather gone home after work to watch TV all night and eat my favorite jalapeno chips, but I pushed myself to drive to the gym. Once I got to the gym I turned up the volume on my ipod and told myself that I only had to stay 45minutes. I dragged myself through my dreaded leg and chest workout while taking unnecessary long breaks in between. After finishing a set of push ups I stood up and noticed a super flamboyant man walking towards me with a smile on his face. I wasn't sure if the man was smiling at me because it was obvious that he had no interest in woman, so I turned around to see if there was someone standing behind me. To make a long story short the man came up to me and said "girlfriend, I just wanted to let you know that you have an amazing body". Moral of the story is that things aren't always as bad as you think. This compliment was exactly what I needed to kick up the speed and finish up my workout with a smile (I even stayed and extra half hour). it also taught me to not be so hard on myself and definitely not to get bent out of shape over my appearance. Life is too short to have bad days, so for the next week I'm going to try to be uber positive and not to be so hard on myself. you only have one life to live.

What is in my gym bag??

Above are a few items that I can't live without. I'm obsessed with my new fitness tights from Forever21. They are inexpensive and super comfy.

Just a few days ago I stumbled across a fantastic deal at Groupon. They were offering one month of unlimited yoga for only 39 bucks at Yoga Palace. Your girl loves a bargain and I have been contemplating trying yoga for a while so I definitely could not pass this up. I am slightly nervous because I am not limber at all (I can't even touch my toes) but I'm hoping that after 30days (1 month) I will be able to contort my body into some sick positions. Plus, I heard that yoga is a great stress reliever. Overall, I'm super excited and cannot wait to get my yoga on.

"Yoga can actually replenish your mind as well as body in as less as 20 minutes. This will give you enough energy to respond to your daily routine and challenges"
