What's in my Shopping cart???

I hear plenty of people saying that" it's too expensive to eat healthy", but I think that's a myth! I save so much money just by eating healthy weekly. Just think a bag of veggies is a whole lot cheaper than a carton of ice cream or a frozen pizza. A container of oatmeal and a carton of eggs is way cheaper than a box of sugary cereal that only last for 4days....okay I'm sure that you get my point!

Here is what I buy from the grocery store every time that I shop:
Crystal Light
Frozen veggies (they are lower in sodium and cheaper)
Brown rice (I have a rice cooker)
2 bags of Tyson chicken breast
2lbs of lean ground beef
Ms. Dash seasonings
Franks Red Hot
Champion Whey Protein

Bodacious Legs

This is what I call a perfect pair of legs. I never knew that Ciara had such great legs. You can definitely tell that she's been in the gym. This picture inspired me to put a little more effort into my leg workouts.

Here are a couple of my favorite leg workouts:

lunges are great for toning your quads and glutes

Smith machine squats are my favorite. I usually start off my leg workout with these. When working my legs I ALWAYS lift heavy.....I usually try to do about 4-5 sets of 8-10 repetitions. Hopefully my legs will look like Ciara's by the end of summer! lol

Tip Top Abs

To Follow up with last weeks blog, I indeed made it through the rest of the week without eating the cake! woohoo! I'm not saying that I didn't crave it or that I didn't take a few laps around the cake table, but with willpower I managed to keep my eyes focused on the prize and not give in to my craving. I believe that the more consistent that you are with your workouts and diet, the easier it will be to stay on track.
Tip Top Abs: I will start off by saying that DIET is key to having a lean core. I know that people hate hearing it but its the truth. If you aren't willing to cut back on fast food, sweets, processed foods, soft drinks, etc then you will never get the results that you want around your mid-section. The minute that I start missing workouts or eat too many bad meals, I can always see and feel the pounds stick to my stomach instantly.

To keep MY abs tight and lean I eat clean, weight train 5 days a week, and I make sure that I do at least 20 minutes of cardio on the days that I workout. I keep my abs engaged pretty much throughout the entire day (I do this by sucking in my tummy). I even keep my core tight when I'm walking around the office at work!

Here is my ab workout:

cable crunches, decline crunches, and hanging leg raises. (I know that I should post pics but I haven't figured out how to do that yet lol, but you can go to for demonstrations of all of the exercises) I also always try to do one weighted core exercise using a dumbbell or medicine ball.
